Agriculture Victoria Research – Technology in Agricultural Research
Our Agriculture Victoria Research team in Hamilton have been developing and implementing remote sensing technologies in their forage grass research program since 2013. These technologies are currently deployed to collect research data from the world’s largest know individual plant ryegrass field trial.
The field trial includes over 270,000 individual plants, all individually measured weekly. This level of data collection could not be completed using traditional measurement techniques. The research is part of a project designed to accelerate the breeding process, allowing significantly better varieties to be delivered to industry faster.
